Tips for practising
- Link each subtraction to an addition the child knows: 15 − 7 is the same as 7 + ? = 15.
- Use ten fingers or a ten-frame for the first sheets, then put them away.
- Read the sum aloud as “15 take away 7” so the meaning stays clear.
